Back 4 Blood Review

This game is not the first I have played on next-gen consoles, but as far as graphics go, this one has me constantly in disbelief with how far we’ve come. Truly immersive and breathe taking graphics.

The game: Back 4 Blood.

The console: Xbox Series X.

The TV: 4k LG CX OLED.

The result: next-gen, console-gaming, 4k immersion heaven.

I have played many a games this year and plan on catching up with their reviews but this one is a worthy starting point for next-gen experience. The atmosphere of the game is absolutely zombie-ridden. It screams Left 4 Dead and boasts the true successor the game deserves. Back 4 Blood absolutely nails the combat, weapon handling, doom-and-gloom and yes, there is tons of blood. But it’s the first “zombie slayer” I’d compare to Call of Duty Zombies but with the immersion of custom deck building that affects player load out and level interaction.

Yes, deck building. Beautiful, perfectly-incorporated, not pay-to-win deck building zombie of a slayer game. Cards affect stats like stamina, health, ammo, melee, weapon handling, healing, etc. And it does so ever so mildly yet noticeably it’s beautiful. Level-affecting cards are also drawn each match to turn the tides and amp up the diversity in replayability.

Man alive and zombie dead, there’s just so much fun to be had. Weapons have WAY more attachments you can uncover for them to fortify whichever weapon you decide to invest into. They also seem to handle diversely and affect the means to which you aggress your zombie friends. And boy does the bullet-to-flesh mechanics feels top notch. It doesn’t feel hollow when you unload your lead. It helps a ton when attacking “bullet sponge” enemies because at least you’re feeling like your bullets are actually tearing through enemy flesh.

It’s definitely funner with friends and also gets hard quick. The game strongly recommends playing together and in distinct roles to better address the changing threats. I have still only but scratched the surface of the game but it’s everything I missed in Left 4 Dead but with today’s graphics and improved mechanics 🙂

Top 5 Original Games – That You Should Check Out

Lists are awesome, right? I mean… lists are debatable, which is the point behind claiming the “top 5 original games” (as not a matter of preference, because we all know it’s fact… 😛 ).

Call of Duty: WW2 PC Beta – Closing Thoughts

Yes, I am a gamer; yes, I stink at gaming; yes, I am untouchable when it comes to death streaks. And yes, I stink at FPS games period (DISCLAIMER: not all FPS games included, exceptions may and do apply).
